Do You Have A Landscape Project We Can Help With?

The manager of landscape advice has been associated with horticulture for many years. 1977 saw the start of his training in nursery work, propagating and tending to trees and shrubs that were containerised. Learning plant names is hard at first but when handling thousands of differing varieties the names become entrenched in one’s mind.

The nursery work led to self employment (1982) in the garden maintenance area. This work included Ponds, Fencing, Driveways, Lawns, Borders and Shrub beds and much more.

During the 1990s it became evident that many house owners and developers were looking for advice and design. There was a need for somebody who could see the project through with an understanding and experience to overcome the problems associated with sites and its environs.

Our experience in advising sales staff of large companies and our time spent with surveyors at the briefing stage of the project has enabled us to boldly offer professional services via the internet.

  • What is your pricing structure?
A Site visit in any part of the UK costs £150 for commercial clients i.e; shopping complex, factory units, schools etc; and those whose projects include design, survey works over 1 acre. Residential clients receive a free visit. This includes a site survey, report, check list and consultation. For this site visit, the client or representatives will need to be available from early morning to late afternoon. Discussions take place before the site visit to ascertain the details of the project. Please contact us for more details.
  • After the site visit, how long will it take before my design is complete?
    Normally 2-3 weeks.
  • How soon could you visit?
If you require a site visit please give us a weeks notice.
  • Have you designed projects like this before?
27 years in the landscape industry brings with it experience, however there is always an excitement over a new project. Each design is different. This is dictated by your personal needs.
  • Would you be willing to project manage the site?
  • What is the largest project you have worked on?
    A 23 acre site costing £2.5 million.
  • Which health and safety regulations will we have to comply with?
That would vary according to the site. The client and contractor are both responsible for the health and safety of others included in the site and its environs. Guidelines and training are given to the client and contractor. Training is essential to the welfare of others. E.g. Cleanliness, trip hazards, site security, welfare and fuel storage, to mention just a few.
  • What size plants will you suggest for each project?
Dependant upon the site and client the plant sourcing is done from many growers. Small plants thrive best, however there is a benefit if we know the client would care for the larger specimens.
  • How much will it cost to hard or soft landscape my garden?
Hard landscaping is generally more costly per m2 than soft landscaping. Drawings and measurements need to be seen to cost these effectively.
  • Would you accept photographs sent to you via E-mail?
Yes, that would be very helpful. Please avoid including other properties windows and people in the view-finder. Digital is best. 3-4 construction, mill; pixels if possible.
  • Can I pay for some of the services online?
Yes this can be arranged through your bank using the BACS service. Please contact us for further information.
  • How did you qualify as a surveyor and designer?
College training and working with other professionals. Experience and good lecturers at college made the studying worthwhile.
